Job role details

 

A leader with excellent organisation skills who is to work closely with the team and has an approach for primarily cost management and efficiency. Maintaining a good packhouse working environment developing, introducing, and achieving the best of the people and processes used. Introducing new processes as agreed with management and able to work anti-social hours when required.

Key responsibilities:

 

• Assist in evaluating and managing, monitoring production, warehouse, quality processes within the packhouse operations efficiently-to retain product safety and quality at a reduced cost 

​​

• Performing HR duties such as assisting in recruiting, selecting, scheduling, counselling, disciplining employees and training packhouse operatives

​​

• Co-ordinate the organisation of packhouse staff working schedules to be compliant against the ethical code of practise

​

• Health and safety measures are adhered to in daily operations

​

• Review and assist in the approval of operational invoices and forwarding for payment to be authorised

​​

• Check on procurement ensuring stocks no waste or limited waste generated

​​

• Providing management with feedback with production and technical information 

​​

• Organisation of repair of and routine management of packhouse equipment or associated equipment used.

Qualifications:

​

• Proven senior production experience in a food factory environment for a minimum 2 years

​

• Proven track record of achieving targets and KPIs’ set.

​

• Strong with Microsoft Office/Excel

​

• Experience in fresh produce preferred but not essential

​

• First Aid 

​

• BRC compliance awareness

​

• Forklift licence.
